The Yellowfin Angelfish is also known by the descriptive common name, Moonbeam Angelfish. The Yellowfin Angelfish sports showy yellow pectoral fins that contrast dramatically against a dark brown body coloration with metallic navy-blue vertical bars. As its common name suggest, the yellow pectoral fins appear like moonbeams peering through a dark midnight sky.
A minimum of a 70-gallon tank with lots of hiding places and live rock for grazing will provide a good environment. The Yellowfin Angelfish is hermaphroditic, very difficult to breed in an aquarium, and has no distinguishable differences in color between male to female.
The diet of the Yellowfin Angelfish should include Spirulina, marine algae, high-quality angelfish preparations, mysis or frozen shrimp, and other meaty fare.
